I'm back at the downloads window with Run or Save choices. When I click Run on either file in my download folder (or when I try to install Java from that website), a new window flashes briefly onto the screen but disappears before I can glimpse anything on it. So Neither Java offline or online download will run. I've tried running both online and offline files each time I made a change but nothing seems to work. I tried both renaming it and deleting it (but not emptying the Recycle Bin) but neither change made any difference.
There is a file in my program x86 folder (I'm running IE 11, which is 32-bit) named Java withĪ couple of things in it. I deleted Java in the Control Panel and went to to get the latest version (which is Version 8, update 25). I didn't put the two things together, but decided to try to update Java when some Facebook pages decided not to display. Around that time my PC began to crash when videos were playing. A few weeks ago Java updating began to fail on my Windows 7 PC.
